Cambodia Collects $4.5 Billion in Revenues from Tax and Customs in 2021

PHNOM PENH: Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the expansion project of National Road No. 48, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen has shared the Royal Government has collect $4.5 billion in revenues from tax and customs last year.

The General Department of Taxation has earned $2,343 million in 2021, an increase of 24% of the initial target, while the revenues collected by the General Department of Customs and Excise has reached $2,294 million. That’s 97% higher than targeted before.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has declared: "Our economy is returning to normal, and our tax revenue in late 2021 was good. Our economic growth is projected at around 3 percent last year,” showing high value for the tax collection in Cambodia even amid the pandemic of Covid-19

In 2020, the Royal Government has collect $5.3 billion as tax and customs revenues.
